We need to talk about grief.

About the film:

Speaking Grief explores the trans-formative experience of losing a family member in a grief-avoidant society that works to avoid both death and grief. It validates grief as a normal, healthy part of the human experience. Moving away from the idea that grief is a problem that needs to be “fixed,” the documentary validates the experience of grievers and guides those wishing to support them. There is no “right” way to grieve. By sharing diverse representations of bereavement, Speaking Grief illustrates that grief is a universal, yet individual experience. The film also addresses the role that support from friends and family plays in a person’s grief experience, offering guidance on how to show up for people in their darkest moments.
